What is Mindfulness?

“The mind is everything, what you think, you become” Gautama Buddha.

The human mind is a powerful and complex enigma, encompassed in the human brain and influencing our thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns. Being aware of the powerful influence that your mind has on your daily life, is just the first step in tapping into your inner wokeness, and actually creating amazing things!
Mindfulness is defined as maintaining present awareness of thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and the surrounding environment.
Mindful practices can range from concrete practices such as meditations, and affirmations but it can also include simple things such as sitting down in nature and listening to the birds or just being aware of the smell in the air!
We all have our own ways of practicing mindfulness, which is what makes it so amazing. When practicing mindfulness, there is no right or wrong! The most important thing, is that you are aware of the present, and focus on creating new emotions for your mind and body to (literally) feel and experience.
Both Christine and Anna diligently began their spiritual journey a two years ago, shortly before creating Alfena.  Anne, our social media-guru also regularly practices mindfulness!
